Sunday night saw the 92nd Acadamy Awards in Los Angeles, California. I love the Oscars, there’s something magical about them. All of my favourite actors coming together to celebrate the art of film, whilst wearing some incredibly beautiful outfits. What more could I ask for? Last year I wrote a post about my favourite looks of the night, so I thought I’d do it again this year.
Not only did he rightfully win the award for best actor for his portrayal of the ‘Clown Prince of Crime’ in ‘Joker’. Joaquin wears a totally vegan Stella McCartney suit. Phoenix decided to only wear this suit for the whole award season. The fashion industry is a huge contributor to global warming, so Joaquin is being more sustainable by re-wearing this suit. Very admirable of him. We have to stan.
Picking up the award for best actress, Renee wore this absolutely gorgeous Dior Haute Couture gown. This one shoulder, shimmery, white dress looks absolutely stunning on her.
Brie Larson wears this incredibly gown by Celine. The pink shade looks amazing on her. Although I think that Brie could wear a potato sack and still look like a 10/10.
Okay, hear me out on this one. Yes, it’s unusual to wear a tracksuit on the red carpet, but it kind of works. At least he stood out, that’s the point right? Plus it’s Prada, so I would say he’s doing something right.
Rooney Mara looks good in anything she wears. It helps that she’s wearing a gorgeous Alexander McQueen dress, one of my favourite brands. She just looks beautiful, as always.
I had to give a special shoutout to Keanu Reeves’ Mum, Patricia Taylor. Reeves brought her as his date for the ceremony and boy did she look good. Wearing a white pantsuit by Dolce and Gabbana, I had to mention her.
Natalie Portman wears a stunning Dior Haute Couture dress with the names of the women directors who were not nominated embroidered onto her cape. A statement if there ever was one. Tastefully done too, she looks amazing.
This Chanel gown worn by Penelope Cruz is certainly a statement. I wasn’t sure how I felt about it when I first saw her, but the more I looked, the more I liked it.
This ‘Killing Eve’ star looked phenomenal in this peach dress. Those sleeves are something else, for real. I love this dress, it’s not normally something I would lean towards, but you can’t deny that Sandra looks beautiful.
Although Rebel changed into her ‘Cats’ costume to present an award, she started the night looking classy in this shiny ensemble. Wilson wears a custom gown by Jason Wu. Paired with classic, vintage-styled hair, she looks a vision in gold!
You wouldn’t be able to miss Janelle Monae on the red carpet. This stand-out gown lets you know that Miss Monae is in the building. A shining star upon this red carpet, Janelle wears Ralph Lauren. I love this look so much, I also really want to wear it.
I’ve included Billie Eilish on this list because the girl sticks to her guns. She could’ve easily conformed and worn a gown, but she didn’t. The eighteen-year-old pop star wears her signature style. Chanel has created this outfit to fit her personal style and she looks great.
Mindy Kaling always serves looks. This time she has this gorgeous yellow gown by Dolce and Gabbana on. The yellow looks incredible against her skin tone, what a vision.
This ten-year-old, ‘Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood’ actress looks amazing in this Christian Siriano gown. I love that she hasn’t been made-up to look a lot older than she is, she still has this childlike aura. Plus she carried a turkey sandwich in her clutch bag, so we love a resourceful queen.
Last but not least we have the beautiful Zazie Beetz. I love this outfit, probably my favourite of the night. The corset bodice with the separate skirt is such a look. I would wear this gown in a heartbeat. She looks like a dream.
